2006 a été une grande année pour moi! Elle a vu non seulement la sortie de mon livre, mais aussi la naissance du CAFE BILINGUE, le réseau des familles multilingues et des amoureux des langues et du bi/plurilinguisme à Paris.
D’un groupe de rencontre informel pour parents d’enfants bilingues , le CAFE BILINGUE est rapidement devenu une marque déposée et une institution qui réunissait, en 2006, jusqu’à 50 parents, sans compter les enfants!
La nécessité d’une organisation structurée s’est vite imposée et ainsi est née l’Association B A F I (Bilinguisme: Animation, Formation, Information), déclarée à Paris en septembre de la même année.
L’organisation des rencontres et conférences est entre les mains d’une équipe de bénévoles, tous convaincus de la nécessité de promouvoir le bi/plurilinguisme avec toutes les langues parlées en France.
Un conseil scientifique solidement ancré dans la recherche et/ou sur le terrain participe à l’élaboration de projets innovants.
Un réseau virtuel international, s’est ajouté en 2008. Ce réseau, ouvert à tous les bilingues et plurilingues francophones amoureux des langues, offre des informations, ainsi qu’un forum d’échanges, à tous ceux qui ne peuvent pas participer aux rencontres réelles de l’association parisienne.

What a year 2006 was for me! It not only saw the launch of my book but also the creation of CAFE BILINGUE- the network for multilingual families and language and bi/plurilingualism fans in Paris.
During 2006, CAFE BILINGUE went from being an informal group for parents of bilingual children to a registered trademark and an institution that brought together 50 parents – and that’s not even counting the children!
It quickly became necessary to have an organised structure and the B A F I (Bilinguisme: Animation, Formation, Information)* Association was created and registered in Paris in September of the same year.
Meetings and conferences are organised by a team of volunteers, who are all convinced of the necessity of promoting bi/plurilingualism given all the different languages spoken in France.
A scientific council experienced in both research and/or in the field, plays a part in developing innovative projects.
A social network has been added in 2008, for French speaking bilinguals and multilinguals. There you can meet people from all over the world, chat in a forum, and get support and information about issues in bilingual education.
